ymmv, things like employee at-will contracts are illegal in my area, technically unenforceable, and yet everyone still signs the form.
Fun times =3

Some contract clause meanings have physical location dependence on where they are signed. That is why one should always consult local legal representation as well. =3

Still, there is no regional or federal law that can prevent someone talking about their wages in the US.
We have this thing called freedom of speech that the courts take pretty seriously (usually).
The whole don't discuss how much you get paid, because its poor etiquette is an anti-worker old wives tale created by HR people last century. Its a complete myth, but most jobs Ive worked at there's always someone who is extermely afraid to discuss the topic out of fear of breaking a non-existent rule. The psyops worked.

The US NLRA at one time excluded several categories of workers like Managers etc. I don't think there was any sort of intentional deception other than the tired old game of bidding down labor costs.
ymmv, as living in an ivory tower means I may be unaware of current US rules.

That may be an old wives tale, as corporate money is defined as speech now. =3
You can sign broken contract freely - it's unenforceable, so you can sign whatever paper HR hands to you, and only when you're retaliated against do you need to care. Which coincidentally is when you stop needing to be cooperative anyways.
Don't "YMMV" your way out of laws that protect you.
