Anyone who thinks blocking datacenter ips helps with blocking scraping is a clown.

It does, measurably. A massively popular site is going to get hammered with more advanced types of scraping, but they're going to have a team that can more easily mitigate it.

A site that doesn't care about corporate users basically loses nothing.
