I'm personally more concerned by the entitled goobers who think it's perfectly reasonable to feed the hardworking majority into a woodchipper if it multiplies the money in their brokerage account. Those are a structural problem, unlike kids who need to learn and will be taught.

I'm simply relating something I have observed through experience: the woodchipper goobers are excellent at victim blaming. If they wrangle you into that woodchipper, they will absolutely say it is your fault.

It's a strange critique to personify a structural problem in this way. It neither holds any individual accountable for their actions, nor points towards a better structure.

...and yet I'm the only one in this thread even indirectly pointing a finger at the entitled goober with the woodchipper. Funny, that.

OK.
What do you think about someone who gets a job, doesn't like it, then expects the employer to give them a different one?

I think the market will teach them the lesson, because they have no political power with which to avoid learning it. Unlike the other goober I mentioned, who absolutely has power and is planning to use it to make sure the woodchipper stays fed!

You told me what you think about the market. What do you think about the person?

I'd say they are assertive and working to get what they want. Good for them. If it doesn't work out, then they know that company wasn't for them.

Needing to learn is the definition of a structural economic problem.

Would be nice if we lived in a world where if you were getting "[fed] into a woodchipper" you could ... oh I don't know ... QUIT! At will employment. You're free to go and live your life how you see fit. Well, at least until we give the power back to the know-better do-good commissars and bureaucrats who then tell us everything we can and can't do for our entire existences.

"We have no work for you but you must work or you're lazy" is a ripe flavor of bullshit that really outsmells vague threats about how labor policy tweaks today will surely lead to the holodomor tomorrow.
I wasn't trying to imply any priority or ordering to concerns or suggest that one group of people was worse than another.
I'm simply relating something I've observed through experience.
Regardless of what you believe about how society should be structured, it's a real problem to be unaware of the realities of how jobs and labor work.
