It looks like old.reddit.com still works but requires logging in. Not having to log in was a huge feature for old.reddit.com. Sucks to see it go, but it was inevitable.

You have to be logged in and, if I understand correctly, if you don't log in to old.reddit for six months (retroactive) they take it away.

My understanding (just from chatting with Gemini) is you just need to visit reddit (logged in) within the past 6 mos and don't have to log out/in again or anything like that.

So basically, I probably have a bunch of accounts from years ago; suspect that all but my current one no longer work with old reddit.

Biggest annoyance for me would be on mobile where i wouldn't log in.

Well - today it started defaulting to new reddit. Somehow this was checked:

>Use new Reddit as my default experience (by enabling this, you will be redirected to the new site when you go to any supported https://reddit.com page)

Undid that and it fixed it for me.

they eventually want to get rid of old reddit while logged in, and force users to use the new ugly UI that is basically like facebook.

it looks like a lot of the functionality of old reddit for seeing not-ad-decided sort orders is going away, so the whole old reddit will probably be gone by the end of the year
