Best of luck to Craig. If you don't know who he is, he's the reason we call(ed) Twitter posts 'tweets' [1] and also wrote perhaps the first pre-SDK iPhone app from the outside [2].

I pronounced it with a "z" sound like xylophone and got "zits" :D

Yes, and we can call the whole platform "Xitter".

Please, show some respect and call it by its full name, "X, the everything app".

Elon is fine with deadnaming so it's fair game to ignore his website's preferred name

I call them Xcretions or Xcrement

I call them just posts now. Easier to pronounce.

I don't call them anything.
Haven't logged in directly for years, or checked anonymously for more than a year now.
Come on in, the water's lovely.
I miss twitter and tweets. So, thank you, Mr Hockenberry for being one of the team to bring us that. Wishing you well.

Thanks for this, and sending love. The first one was discussed here (long after the fact):

Ah, I feel a kinship.. in 2007 I got an iPhone, followed the guide to install the homebrew SDK on Linux, and managed to get it to work to create iPhone apps. At first they'd run on jailbroken phones (there was a command to "sign" them), later I installed a Hackintosh and XCode and even got the Apple Dev program subscription and sold one app on their store.

HE ALSO INVENTED THE CHOCKLOCK AND HAS GIANT FLESHY PALMS
(It's terrible what he had to go through, but I'm happy to hear that he's come out the other end happy and healthy. I hope you get to swim in the ocean soon Craig!)
Following the rename we can now call them Xits, the x being pronounced as in Chinese ('sh').
There’s a lot of xit-posting on X, after all.
