Umm, does a Nixfile have a "grammar" of a 140000+ records and 232000 attributes from its individual packages? Can a lightweight text editor underline an error?

It doesn't have to be specific attributes. It's just map(string, derivation) for the package list, however you language expresses that.
Similar to how JS has x["a"]==x.a, they're attributes.
