I think you're underestimating just how "standard" many of the shortcuts are when mapped against a standard shell.

"Standard shell" also should allow Ctrl + C for copying, it makes no sense to use a different combination for console.

Okay, but now you have to modify the shell and configure a different shortcut for SIGINT without stepping on something else.

Is this problem a Nobel prize level problem?

55 years of a standard, but then you come and say that the standard should be something else.

That's… not what "standard" means.
